Meadow in April

Fritillaries and cowslips flowering in the meadow

Fritillaries and cowslips seem to be gradually taking hold. Despite the natural look quite a few fritillary bulbs were planted before they started to spread. Originally some cowslip plugs were planted but these coped badly with competition form the strongly growing grass. Later, when the overall fertility of the meadow was reduced an overseeding wildflower mix containing cowslip seed was used.CowslipMeadowFritillaryMeadow
